Classes

We offer ballet and jazz pre-school classes for young dancers wanting to find their dancing feet!

These classes are a great introduction to dance and the studio environment, providing a lot of excitement, dancing, props and music.

Any student can join from the age of 3, and can choose to take part in either ballet, jazz or both!

Like our other classes, the pre-school dancers will have the chance to take part in our end of year show.

Pre-School

Including strength, flexibility, leaps and turns, Jazz is one of our most popular styles.

We offer Open classes and classes following the International Dance Technique syllabus.

This genre suits anyone looking for a high energy and upbeat class with choreography to modern music.

Dancers also have the opportunity to sit yearly exams.

Jazz

This traditional, classical style is the foundation of many dance genres. Characterised by light, graceful movements, our senior students after a number of years of training, also get the opportunity to dance en pointe.

Ballet is a great genre for any student that is detail oriented, wanting to develop good posture and poise – it serves as a great technical base for any aspiring dancer.

We offer RAD and NZAMD syllabus classes with yearly examination or class award opportunities.

Ballet

Hip Hop is a style that promotes performance, coordination and groove.

We offer Open Hip Hop classes with guest teachers and fresh choreography each week as well as classes following the Dance NZ Made syllabus.

These classes are great for a dancer wanting to find their confidence and their own individual style.

Contemporary dance is an expressive style that includes floorwork, partner work and freedom of movement.

Contemporary

Acrobatics focuses on fundamental technique to teach flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control and concentration.

Students have the opportunity to progress through levels based on ability rather than age and can sit examinations.

These classes are great for students who are wanting to try something different to their regular dance class and like the idea of a challenge.

Our classes are equipped with professional training apparatus.

Like jazz, tap dance was born from a fusion of European and West African cultures.

It is based around rhythms and movements made with the feet.

It’s a great choice for students who are interested in strongly developing their musicality, rhythm & co-ordination.

Our students follow the NZAMD syllabus.
